Obviously, but they also cannot be destroyed by dark hole or cards like that, neither banished with prison, or set with book of moon, or returned to extra deck by compulsory, and obviously their eff cannot be negated. That's why sychrocentric sucks: the only number monster u can easly do is leviathan that sucks a little.
Another thing: if u and your opponent control both a number monster, the monter with the highest number cannot be destroyed: that's why shock ruler sucks and Number: 107 Galaxy-eyes techyon dragon will be banned in the next banlist.
